The 2025 Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers is shaping up to be another thrilling series. In Game 1, held on June 4, 2025, the Oilers secured a dramatic 4–3 overtime victory. Leon Draisaitl scored twice, including the game-winner on a power play with just 31 seconds left in OT, tying the NHL record for most overtime goals in a single postseason with three.

The Panthers had built a 3–1 lead early in the second period, with Sam Bennett scoring twice and Brad Marchand adding another. However, the Oilers mounted a comeback, with goals from Viktor Arvidsson and Mattias Ekholm tying the game. Connor McDavid contributed two assists, including the setup for the overtime winner, while goaltender Stuart Skinner made 29 saves.

This series is a rematch of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, where the Panthers won their first-ever championship by defeating the Oilers in seven games. Game 2 of the current series is scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2025, in Edmonton.
